While the world eagerly awaits the release of Humanz later this month, Gorillaz continue to own headlines, as they have now just launched a new mobile app. The app in turn makes use of augmented reality technology to superimpose elements from the band’s recent music videos into the user’s surroundings, courtesy of the smartphone camera. Upon tapping on various elements from the screen, extras and different rooms including Kong Studios, the band’s old studio in Essex, are revealed.
Fans, you can go ahead and download this new app from Gorillaz for both iOS and Android.
In addition to the app reveal, the band has also disclosed of a worldwide Humanz listening event — via the app — that will allow fans to hear the album for the first time. Humanz arrives April 28. To pre-order record, click here.
