Remy Ma released a track today titled “shETHER” – a sample of Nas’ classic beat “Ether” – to dis Nicki Minaj. The track has already gone viral and has transcended into a firestorm via internet. Remy’s six minute rap assault against the “Barbie-esque” rapper was used to express her distaste for Minaj by accusing her of everything from copying her style, to having a surgically enhanced backside. Remy also accuses Nicki of having affairs with Gucci Mane, Lil Wayne and even Hot 97’s morning DJ host, Ebro. And she even went as far as to shame the Queens rapper for playing herself (aka super thirsty for attention) by taking pictures with Drake and Wayne post breakup with Meek Mill. The single also comes with a brutal album cover art featuring a mutilated Barbie doll with pink hair.
Remy’s song comes after Nicki Minaj’s dis to her on Gucci Mane song titled “Make Love.” Nicki has since responded with two instagram posts – click here to see. Is it possible to have two female emcees bring on the lyrical fury as her predecssors? or is this more hoopla to sell records and distract us from our current political woes?
