A day after his co-Rookie of The Year winner Grant Hill announced his retirement on Saturday, Knicks guard Jason Kidd has decided to call it quits as well. After 19 seasons the veteran is a sure-fire Hall of Famer. With an uncanny ability to see the floor and convert defense into instant offense his presence on the court will be missed. But while he dazzled us with his brilliant basketball intuition, he was almost as iconic for what he was wearing when he did it.

In the 90’s Jason Kidd and Nike put out some of the most influential shoes in that era. Starting with the bug eyed Zoom Flight 95 JKidd hit the court in style and never let up. Comfortable, durable and just flashy enough the Flight 95’s were instant classics on and off the court. Nike followed that up with a more subdued model the next year and gave us the Zoom Flight 96’s. With the Zoom Flight Uptempo V’s also credited to Jason Kidd it’s easy to see why his shoe game alone puts him in the Hall of Fame. Nike cemented his legacy with frequent retros of the shoes and even had them available for Nike ID during a brief stint.

Later is his career Kidd had a stint with Jordan Brand that brought out PE’s of all varities. Towards the tail end of his playing time Kidd partnered with Chinese footwear brand Peak but he will always be remembered for his classic years with Nike.
