Etonic Footwear Unveils Collaboration with Barneys New York

New York, NY (October 27, 2014) Legendary athletic footwear brand Etonic, announces its exclusive footwear collaboration with luxury specialty retailer Barneys New York. The two companies have collaborated to re-create Etonic’s retro “Stable Base” tech running style, due to release November 1st. The collaboration represents a seamless blend of functionality with Etonic’s heritage style.

Founded in 1876, Etonic has established strong roots in the athletic footwear industry and has long been recognized as a leader in product performance and innovation. Etonic’s Stable Base running shoe, originally released in 1992, was one of Etonic’s most popular styles and served as the perfect point of inspiration for the collaboration.

Christopher Pepe, Barneys New York Buyer, and Etonic’s Creative Director, Willie Montanez, worked together to create a product that is visually appealing and technically engineered for comfort and performance alike. With this partnership, both companies had the mission to craft a one-of-a-kind shoe that paid homage to Etonic’s classic aesthetic while maintaining the luxury that Barneys is famous for. The fundamental ingredients used to sculpt the sneaker include calfskin leather lining with mesh upper panels, high-grade nubuck, reflective underlays, and a 100% gum rubber outsole.

“Being a long time fan of Barneys New York, teaming up with them was a natural fit, says Willie Montanez of Etonic. “The Etonic Stable Base was a beacon of 90’s footwear and had the most innovative technology of its time. We are excited to reintroduce this style and release it exclusively at Barneys New York.”

The Barneys New York x Etonic Stable Base sneaker will retail for $140 and can be seen here. The Etonic Stable Base collaboration is available now for presale online at http://www.barneys.com and at select Barneys New York locations nationwide on November 1, 2014.
