Jordan Brand Renovates Michael Jordan’s High School Gym

In celebration of its 30th anniversary, the Jordan Brand chose to give the iconic player’s hometown a memorable gift they soon won’t forget. The brand highlighted Michael Jordan’s roots by renovating his former high school gym at Emsley A. Laney High School in Wilmington, North Carolina. New floors, new lighting, as well as repainting the gym in the school’s blue and yellow team colors. Even the trophy cases received a makeover: including a new display of Air Jordan sneakers, photos and sports memorabilia.

In conjunction with the school’s ongoing Fred Lynch Invitational Tournament, a temporary “Jordan Brand experience” has also been applied – offering athletes free haircuts within the “player’s lounge.”
