What a year it has been for the one who has been labeled as “currently the greatest basketball player on Earth”. The 9-time NBA All-Star, 4-time MVP, 2-time NBA Finals MVP and 2-time consecutive NBA champion has set his career on a course that can only be compared to that Justin Timberlake performance at the 2013 VMA’s x that Kendrick Lamar verse on “Control” x Denzel Washington’s final tirade in the standoff with the residents of “The Jungle” in Training Day x The Black Album x Taraji P. Henson in that Peta ad……simply incredible. I’m a Knicks fan to the core and I can’t front on his accomplishments, skill level and athletic abilities. To go along with his yearly accolades, his signature line with Nike has been beyond noteworthy. This year especially, the Lebron X’s have caused frenzy whether it was the liberation of the Denims, the What the MVPs, the Christmas’, or the Pure Platinums. Well, summer is officially over and last week, we were introduced to the Lebron XIs. That didn’t stop Nike from releasing its final colorway for the Lebron X’s.
Originally slated for a September 7th release, the Lebron X Low “Raspberry” dropped this past Saturday the 31st. I know, I know. It caught me off guard as well. Going with the recently popular “Raspberry” theme which was started by Christiano Ronaldo’s Mercurial soccer cleats, this final release features a raspberry red Hyperfuse upper with court-purple accents on the sock lining, laces and the Dynamic Flywire. Bright volt green speckles the Nike Swoosh and takes over the outsole. These personally remind me of “The Joker” and I guess with the timing of the release, it’s just in time for Halloween. As stated above, Nike moved up the release date of these sneakers sooooooo…..if you’re reading this and want a pair, hopefully they’re not sold out by now. Check your local retailers. I actually saw these on the shelves at Finish Line when I went to pick up my Jordan V’s this past Saturday morning.
