The NBA has announced today that the Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry has won the 2014-15 KIA’s NBA Most Valuable Player Award. The 6-3 guard is the second Warrior’s player to win the prestigious award – joining Wilt Chamberlain, who was awarded back in 1959-60 when the franchise played in Philadelphia.
Curry totaled 1,198 points; including 100 of 130 first-place votes from a panel of 129 sportswriters and broadcasters in the United States and Canada. He’s also attained the KIA MVP fan vote on NBA.com. Players were awarded 10 points for each first-place vote – seven points for each second-place vote, five points for each third-place vote, three points for each fourth-place vote, and one point for each fifth-place vote.
